Complete with green velvet lined Ithaca takedown case, choke tool, a pair of keys, papers and Ithaca baseball cap. Supreme hand checkered American walnut pistol grip stock and forearm with black grip cap with raised hunter in a pewter oval inlay, single gold washed trigger, trigger guard safety and vented Ithaca recoil pad. According to the included certificate of authenticity, the engraving was done by A&A Engraving, Rapid City, South Dakota.
Ithaca 37 shotgun choke serial number#
The top of the receiver is plain with a gold engraved 60th anniversary logo and the underside features the serial number in gold. The antique nickel finished receiver features scroll engraved sides with gold inlays: the Ithaca eagle on the left side and two hunters in a woodland scene following a hunting dog to three grouses on the right.
Ithaca 37 shotgun choke full#
Dual bead sights on a vent rib barrel with 2 3/4 inch and 3 inch chamber and modified, improved cylinder and full choke tubes. Next to an A5 Light Twelve, my favorite repeater. Other than that, the 870 is almost as good. Over the years I have had several different shotguns done, including a double, with the thinwall tubes. My 37 was done using Truechoke thinwall tube size. I think mine only cost about 100, including the 3 tubes.
Used to be an 870 guy, but the 37 is sleeker, lighter, smoother, and points better. I would get the barrel cut, and set up for the choke tubes. Manufactured in 1997 this shotgun commemorates the 60th anniversary of the Model 37 and is the 29th of 200 60th anniversary shotguns produced. Had one for a couple of years until I traded it to my son. The first use of the Ithaca 37 was mentioned, when it was being T&E (Tested and Evaluated) in Vietnam.
